Zumba Colour Burst Fun Day

Thanks to the generosity of our Zumba Family and their family and friends, the small local buisinesses who kindly donated raffle prizes and everyone who got involved in our mission. We've managed to raise £1716.12, which will pay for Josh monitor and will cover 3 months of running costs which is £200 a months. To say i'm over the moon is an understatement, Josh family is very grateful and Josh is looking forward to some normality in his life which many of us take for granted. Well done to everyone, we had such a fantastic day and the atmosphere was magical.xxx

Zumba Colour Burst Family Fun Day Sunday 7 August 2016

and Family Fun Day Outdoor Event
Sunday August 7th at 1pm
Foxhall Community Centre

Our aim is to raise £1000 to buy an Ipro Guardian Monitoring machine to give a better quality of life to 8yr old Josh who has type 1 diabetes and whose mum comes regularly to our classes.

We have a host of activities planned for the afternoon but not to be missed is our main event - the holi powder Zumba Colour Blitz. Our instructor, Gabriela Reeve, has put together 3 half hour well-choreographed routines with her usual enthusiasm and flair. Fun, energetic, up-beat and this time under clouds of colour holi powder which will be freely available on the door at 50p a pot and even more freely thrown to enhance everyone's enjoyment. If you don't want to take part, this is definitely must-see entertainment of the highest calibre with the promise of some serious and infectious colour bombing from every corner.....
The more powder you throw - the more we move
You pump up the colour - we pump up the beat
And there'll be junior zumba routines too, specially for the kids, with even more powder attack! Top class, unmissable fun of the most colourful kind.

Away from the zumba arena we'll have a variety of stalls and activities ....
RAFFLE - with over 40 lovely prizes
TOMBOLA - a tabletop full of lovely homeware goods, cosmetics and toiletries
CAKES - with a tempting selection of home-baked foods
ACCESSORIES - jewellery, bags, belts, scarves etc
BOOKS - bric-a-brac, children's toys and games and other pre-loved things
In the line up for the STOCKS we've hand-picked a rather grand assortment of "infamous", shady but loveable characters mainly from the zumba floor - 6 large, well doused sponges £1.
There are bottles of wine to win as well as teddies, dollies and sweets in our field competitions along with kid's games, face painting, nail- wraps and more. And with ice cream, an on-site bar for refreshments and children's play area, there is something for everyone.

So round up the kids and their chums, fetch the grannies and grandads, aunties and uncles and the old gal next door and head for Foxhall Community Centre at 1 o'clock for an afternoon of summer fun. Come and spend a few shillings and some quality family time with us and help us to buy little Josh his new machine. We'd love to see you there. We're aiming to do at least 2-3 zumba events every year to benefit local charities. Also whenever possible to let you know where the money you've helped raise have been spent.

Laura's Tribute Fund- 17th march 2013 zumba party at Rushmere Sports Club

It's been a memorable event, we had disco lights kindly provided by N.G.B. Disco's and a great turnout . Some of you who couldn't be there on the day made kind donations towards our project.  On the day we raised just over £600, and we were over the moon. However a grand total of £2250 was raised as part of Bridget and Paul's Arthey 60th birthday celebration, and through various fund-rising events. Paul and Bridget would like to thank everyone who supported and donated so generously over the past year in Laura's memory for the Children's Ward at Ipswich Hospital. With the help and advice of the ward play leader and staff they have bought the following :

2x portable blood pressure machines, 6x buckets of Duplo bricks, 4x Duplo bears, 2x boxes of Dinky cars, 2x tubs of animals, pens, 6x Moxie dolls fully dress-able with no hair to help cancer children to cope with their illness, 1 goal post, books, bubble column, relax  cd's, 1x projector, 1x Freeze type mirror, 1x aroma spa system.

Brought with the funds from Zumba party the wooden playhouse is our biggest purchase. My  zumbaholics friends  Maria, Anna and my mother in law Gloria very kindly donated their time and energies to lay on this event which was lots of fun and a big success. The house itself was made by my husband Shaun a carpenter by trade and was installed in the little garden  on the Children's ward on the 21st September. Our grateful thanks to David (Maria's husband) for willingly giving his time, expertise, truck and petrol to help my husband install the house. A big THANK-YOU to everyone involved in the project- a truly lovely way to help children who need to escape from the stress of their treatment during their time in the hospital.
